I only know this phrase from Romeo & Juliet. Juliet's mother tells her "Do what thou wilt, for I have done with thee" when she refuses to marry Count Paris. It's pretty harsh; her mom is writing her off.

Aleister Crowley took inspiration for his "cult" in Fran็ois Rabelais' 1535 novel Gargantua which features "the Abbey of Thelema" ("L'Abbaye de Th้l่me") an utopian abbey which has for sole rule "Do what thou will" ("Fais ce que voudras") so is this fundamentally satanic? You judge

The irony in someone saying this shirt is satanic or religious for that matter is ironic. I like the design, also 'do what thou wilt' doesnt mean 'do what you want' if you're going by the legit Thelema/Crowley meaning. It means do what you want in accordance to 'love' which is the carrier of your will. In other words, your will or desire should be in accordance with everyone else's, the moment you do something that upsets another person's will, you are going against the natural order of things. Crowley wasnt a satanist, and furthermore, nothing wrong with someone being a satanist either, why should it matter if you dont believe in it? get over yourself Aaron, and move on if you dont like the damn shirt. :D

Like Abe said, Crowley was not a Satanist. In fact Crowley had already done his work and had published many works relating to Golden Dawn, Rosicrutionism, and Thelema. The creator of the church of Satan was only 17 at the time of Crowley's death in 1947. As for the quote the full line is, "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will."

Abe wrote
Uh, Aleister Crowley ws not even vaguely a Satanist. He was a classical kabbalist and then started his OWN religion, called Thelema (Greek for 'will'). Do your research, please (I wrote my dissertation on the dude, 6 years of research).

Well, yeah. Aleister Crowley said that, but if you look the shirt. There are two snakes and there is a flower. I think this t-shirt has nothing to do with Crowley, but with "The NeverEnding Story". The two snakes represent the AURYN and the flower represents the Ivory Tower.

And the "motto" of the Auryn in the book is: "Tu, was du willst" which mean "Do what you want."

This is a Aleister Crowley quote. He was a satanist. Look him up. Enjoy your evil shirt. Note: I do not enjoy religious clothing whether its Christian or Satanic. Its all the same b.s. Know what the symbolism on your clothing instead of being a blind sheep.
